Anantapur Canal Cleanup Removes 6,000 Kg Plastic Waste

In a city called Anantapur, there is a big water canal called the Tungabhadra High Level Main Canal.

Lots of plastic trash had been thrown into the canal, which is not good for the water or the environment.

So, a group of people decided to clean it up.

They called this project 'Project Anantapur Mission Clean'.

On Sunday, more than 140 people came together to help.

They picked up more than 6,000 kilograms of plastic waste from the canal.

This was the second time they did this big cleanup.

The first time, they removed about 5,000 kilograms of plastic.

Together, they have now removed more than 11,000 kilograms of plastic.

The people who helped included students, older citizens, and even city workers.

The leader of the group said that when everyone works together, the city can become cleaner and better.
