Anantapur Leads State in SIR-2026 Voter Enumeration
Anantapur district is checking its voter list for the 2026 elections.
Officials gave voter forms to everyone listed in the district.
They have entered nearly 88 per cent of the completed forms into a computer system.
Some forms could not be collected because people were absent, had moved away, had died or appeared more than once.
Officials will check these cases before removing names from the draft list.
Anantapur was ranked first in the State for distributing all forms and completing door-to-door surveys.
Political parties and election workers were asked to work together to find mistakes.
Officials are also planning to adjust polling stations to make them easier for people to reach.
Enumeration forms were distributed to all 20,38,523 voters across Anantapur district’s eight constituencies.
Officials said 17,90,436 forms, or 87.83 per cent, have been digitised.
A total of 2,48,087 forms were classified as uncollectable because of absence, migration, death or duplicate entries.
Anantapur achieved complete form distribution and a 100 per cent door-to-door survey by Booth Level Officers.
Draft-roll publication, notices, objections and inquiries will proceed under legal and Election Commission procedures.
