Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Unveils Major Healthcare Infrastructure Expansion

The city of Navi Mumbai is making its hospitals better so that people can get good treatment close to home.

A group called the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, or NMMC, runs the city's public hospitals.

The leader of this group, Commissioner Dr Kailas Shinde, held a meeting to plan all the improvements.

They want to build a special unit for sick newborn babies that can take care of 20 to 25 babies at a time.

One children's and mothers' hospital in Airoli will become a bigger general hospital.

They are also adding special scanning machines called MRI and a heart-testing lab at Vashi Hospital.

More doctors who are experts in difficult treatments will be hired.

The city will also give out government health cards so more families can get free medical care.

Extra steps are being planned to stop mosquitoes from spreading diseases during the rainy season.

All these changes are meant to make sure every person in Navi Mumbai can get quality healthcare without hardship.
