Bandra Fort connector adds ₹1,722 crore to VBSL project
The government approved a new road connector between the Versova-Bandra Sea Link and Bandra Fort.
It will cost about ₹1,722 crore.
The connector will be 3.55 kilometres long and have two lanes in each direction.
Officials hope it will make it easier for people in Bandra to reach the sea link.
This is because many roads inside Bandra are narrow and crowded.
Surveys of the ground are being done before construction begins.

The full sea-link project and its connectors are expected to cost ₹19,843 crore.
The Maharashtra government approved a 3.55-km connector linking the Versova-Bandra Sea Link to Bandra Fort at an estimated cost of ₹1,722.40 crore.
The connector will have two lanes in each direction, including a 1.269-km main carriageway, a loop and three ramps.
Tendering is expected to begin within two to three months, while geotechnical surveys are underway.
Officials say the link is intended to reduce congestion on Bandra’s narrow internal roads and improve access to the sea link.
