Maharashtra Approves ₹1,722 Crore Bandra Fort Connector To Ease Congestion
A new road is planned near Bandra Fort in Mumbai.
It will be 3.55 kilometres long and have four lanes.
The road is expected to help cars leaving the Versova-Bandra Sea Link.
Many nearby roads are narrow and traffic can make short trips take 20 to 30 minutes.
The new connector will provide another route toward Pali Hill, Bandra Fort and Taj Lands End.
The project will cost about ₹1,722 crore.
The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation will build it.
The state approved the project after a proposal was submitted in 2024.

The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation will execute the project as part of the ongoing sea link works.
The connector will link the Swatantryaveer Savarkar Sea Link near Bandra Fort with roads toward Pali Hill and Taj Lands End.
The project is intended to reduce congestion on the roughly 2.6-kilometre route from the sea link toll plaza to Pali Hill.
The proposal was submitted on August 19, 2024, and formally approved through a government resolution dated July 28, 2026.
