Nashik Direct Samruddhi Expressway Connector Gets Approval Ahead Of Kumbh
Nashik will get a new road connecting it directly to the Samruddhi Expressway.
The connection will begin near Pandhurli, about 28 kilometres from Nashik.
The project may cost between ₹300 crore and ₹350 crore.
Officials want to build two lanes before next year’s Simhastha Kumbh Mela.
Later, the road could become four lanes after land is acquired.
Today, people use longer routes through Igatpuri, Bharvir Khurd, or Sinnar to reach the expressway.
Some routes involve narrow roads or toll payments at two places.
The new connector is meant to make travel toward Mumbai and Nagpur quicker and easier.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis granted in-principle approval for a direct Nashik connector to the Samruddhi Expressway.
The connector will be built at Pandhurli, about 28 kilometres from Nashik, at an estimated cost of ₹300 crore to ₹350 crore.
The Public Works Department aims to complete an initial two-lane road before next year’s Simhastha Kumbh Mela.
The road is planned to expand to four lanes after land acquisition, while a separate project will connect Nashik city to Pandhurli.
The route is expected to nearly halve access distance and reduce narrow-road travel and possible double toll payments.
