The 19.54-km Sant Gadge Maharaj Chowk–Chembur corridor has been out of passenger service for several months during a modernisation programme.
Fresh tenders cover cable joints, network switches, a 30-channel SIP telephone line, and diesel generator emission testing.
Trial runs are being conducted almost daily, but MMRDA has not announced a date for resuming passenger services.
