Metro 4 Pit Line Inspection Completed, Diwali Launch Awaits Report
Metro 4 is a planned train line in Thane.
Safety officials have inspected an important facility called a pit line.
This facility lets workers check and repair parts underneath metro trains.
It is especially useful because the main train storage and maintenance depot is not finished yet.
The safety authority will now write a report.
MMRDA will make any changes the report recommends.
The line already passed another round of technical testing in June.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority is awaiting the safety report before making any recommended changes or seeking subsequent approvals.
The pit line will provide interim maintenance and inspection facilities because the Metro 4 car shed is not yet complete.
The corridor cleared Research Design and Standards Organisation testing in June, covering trains, signalling, safety systems and tracks.
MMRDA expects services to begin around Diwali or by the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
