India Must Become AI Creator, Delhi CM Tells VIT Graduates

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta spoke to students graduating from VIT University.

She said India should create its own artificial intelligence instead of only using technology made elsewhere.

She encouraged graduates to work with governments and institutions to solve problems such as pollution, traffic and waste.

She also told students not to give up when they fail, but to learn from mistakes and keep trying.

VIT Chancellor G. Viswanathan discussed the need for more access to higher and medical education.

He said India has many engineering seats but not enough medical seats.

He also asked the Union education minister to help resolve disagreements about appointing university vice-chancellors.

In total, 11,276 undergraduate and postgraduate students received degrees.

Gupta’s son Nikunj graduated, and she opened a VIT research centre on bacteriophages and infectious diseases.
