Sri Sathya Sai district to host patriotic events from Aug 9
A district in India is going to have a big celebration for the national flag.
The celebration will last from August 9 to August 17.
People are being asked to put the Indian flag on their homes.
There will be parades with bikes, bicycles, and e-bikes.
People will sing a famous patriotic song called 'Vande Mataram'.
They can also take selfies with the flag.
Government buildings will be lit up in the flag's colors.
There will also be large colorful rangoli designs on the ground.
On August 14, people will remember those who suffered during India's Partition.
The district leader is asking everyone to join and show their love for the country.
District Collector Shyam Prasad announced large-scale patriotic programmes across Sri Sathya Sai district from August 9 to 17.
The events mark the Central government's 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign and the 150th anniversary of the song 'Vande Mataram'.
Planned activities include Tiranga rallies, bike and cycle processions, cultural programmes, mass singing, and Selfie with Tiranga campaigns.
Flags will be made available through Self-Help Groups and local manufacturers in compliance with the Flag Code of India.
August 14 will be observed as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day with exhibitions, documentary screenings, and a two-minute silence.
