Har Ghar Tiranga Spirit Sweeps Telangana Following PM Modi's Call
India is getting ready to celebrate Independence Day.
The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, asked everyone to put the Indian flag on their homes.
This is called the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign, which means "a flag in every home".
In the state of Telangana, the campaign started on August 10.
Many leaders, like ministers and members of parliament, put up the flag at their houses and shared pictures online.
They want people of every religion and community to join in.
People can take selfies with the flag and upload them to a special website called harghartiranga.com.
This year is special because the campaign celebrates 150 years of the patriotic song "Vande Mataram".
From August 12 to 14, workers will clean the statues of freedom fighters and hold flag rallies.
A big flag procession is also planned for August 14.
The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign commenced across Telangana on August 10 following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to hoist the national flag at every home.
Union ministers, MPs, MLAs and key party leaders hoisted the tricolour at their residences alongside family members and shared photos and videos on social media.
This year's drive commemorates 150 years of Vande Mataram, with leaders describing the tricolour as a symbol of national unity, progress and glory.
Citizens and students of all communities were urged to participate by hoisting the flag, singing Vande Mataram and uploading selfies to harghartiranga.com under #HarGharTiranga.
Party workers were asked to organise Tiranga rallies and conduct cleanliness drives at memorials and freedom fighters' statues from August 12 to 14, with a massive Tiranga Yatra set for August 14.
