Gujarat to hold 1,200 Tiranga Yatras for Har Ghar Tiranga
India has a special flag called the Tiranga, and there is a big campaign called 'Har Ghar Tiranga,' which means 'a flag in every home.'
The state of Gujarat is joining this campaign from August 9 to August 17.
The government has planned more than 1,200 flag marches, called Tiranga Yatras, all across the state.
People hope that the flag will be flown at more than 70 lakh homes.
A big event with a flag march and a concert will take place in Gandhinagar on August 10.
There will also be flag marches in big cities like Ahmedabad, Rajkot, and Vadodara.
The campaign is a way to say thank you to soldiers who gave their lives for the country.
It also helps everyone feel proud and united as one nation, from children to the elderly.
Special programmes on August 14 will remember the hardships people faced when India was divided.
Gujarat will organise more than 1,200 Tiranga Yatras and patriotic events across the state from August 9 to 17 as part of the nationwide 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign.
The Tricolour is expected to be displayed at more than 70 lakh homes during the campaign.
Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi announced the campaign on Thursday, linking it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of national unity.
The state-level programme, featuring a Tiranga Yatra and Tiranga Concert, will be held in Gandhinagar on August 10 in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
Yatras are also scheduled in Ahmedabad (August 11), Rajkot (August 12) and Vadodara (August 14), with special 'Partition Horrors Remembrance Day' programmes set for August 14.
