Ashwin Sanghi Wins Bhutan’s First JSW Literature Prize
Ashwin Sanghi, a well-known author, received the first ever JSW Prize in Literature in Bhutan.
The prize was created in 2025 to celebrate the 70th birthday of Bhutan’s king, Jigme Singye Wangchuck.
A committee praised Sanghi for mixing history, myths, and ideas into stories that many people can enjoy.
He won a cash prize of 5 lakh rupees and gave it to a charity that helps communities in Bhutan.
The award ceremony took place at the Royal University of Bhutan in the capital city, Thimphu.
Ashwin Sanghi awarded the inaugural JSW Prize in Literature at Bhutan Echoes festival.
Prize established in 2025 to honor 70th birth anniversary of Jigme Singye Wangchuck.
