India Cuts Export Levies on Petrol, Diesel and ATF
The government charges special levies when companies export certain fuels.
It has lowered these levies for petrol, diesel and aviation fuel.
Petrol’s export levy is now Rs 0.50 per litre.
Diesel’s total export levy is now Rs 20 per litre.
The diesel change includes a lower special tax and the removal of a Rs 1 infrastructure cess.
Aviation fuel’s levy is now Rs 15 per litre.
The new rates apply from September 16 for two weeks.
These changes concern exports and do not directly change domestic petrol or diesel taxes.
The levies will be reviewed again using international fuel prices.
The government reduced export levies on petrol, diesel and aviation turbine fuel for the next fortnight.
