Pune's Chakan Bans Roadside Parking, Targets Encroachments With Zero Tolerance
In the city of Pune, India, there is a busy area called Chakan where many factories are.
So many big trucks park on the roads that traffic gets stuck.
The people in charge decided to stop vehicles from parking on the roads.
They will make special parking spots for big trucks in open spaces owned by MIDC.
From August 19, parking on the road is not allowed.
People who park on the road anyway will get in trouble, even if it is their first time.
Officials will also remove things like food stalls and illegal godowns that block the road.
Cameras with artificial intelligence will watch the roads to spot problems quickly.
Around 100 new police officers will be sent to help keep traffic moving.
The officials hope traffic will move 25 to 30 percent faster.
