Palghar Administration Launches 15-Day Drive Against Highway Encroachments
The Palghar administration wants to remove buildings and other structures that were put up illegally beside a national highway.
These structures include hotels, roadside eateries, tyre shops, sheds and scrap storage areas.
Officials will inspect both sides of the highway from Ghodbunder to Achhad.

Palghar district administration has begun preparations to remove illegal constructions and encroachments within the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway’s Right of Way.
District Collector Dr. Indu Rani Jakhar directed authorities to identify the structures and complete action within 15 days after following legal procedures.
The inspection will cover both carriageways from Ghodbunder to Achhad, including hotels, dhabas, tyre shops, tin sheds and scrap godowns.
The Forest Department, Vasai-Virar City Municipal Corporation, revenue officials and Tahsildars will document encroachments within their jurisdictions.
Police will provide security during the coordinated removal operation, while the district administration monitors implementation and departmental coordination.
