Maharashtra Forms High-Level Committee to Tackle Chakan Traffic Woes
In a place called Chakan in India, there are many factories and lots of trucks on the roads.
The roads are full of potholes and the traffic is very crowded.
Some factory owners were so unhappy that they said more than 20 companies might leave the area.
The state government of Maharashtra decided to help solve these problems.
It made a special group of officials called a committee to look at the roads.
The group will check the roads and make a big plan to fix them.
They will repair potholes and improve traffic lights, parking and safety.
The government wants the work done within 10 months.
They are also creating a special office to help factories get their permits faster.
This way, the companies may stay and the roads will become safer for everyone.
The Maharashtra government has formed a high-level committee to address traffic congestion, poor road conditions and traffic management issues in Chakan and adjoining industrial areas.
Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi will head the committee, with Pimpri-Chinchwad Commissioner of Police Vinoy Kumar Choubey serving as co-chairman.
The committee will prepare a comprehensive road and traffic master plan covering major roads, junctions, drainage, streetlights, traffic signals, parking and road safety.
The Government Resolution was issued by the Planning Department on August 14, 2026, following directions from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
A separate Industry Grievance Redressal Cell will be set up at the Pune District Collectorate to resolve pending approvals and services required by industries.
