Odisha plans to build a new highway along its coast.

It will connect Rameshwar, Konark and Paradeep.

The road is expected to make the trip from Rameshwar to Paradeep about two and a half hours shorter.

The project will be built in two parts.

The first part, from Rameshwar to Konark, will have four lanes.

The second part, from Konark to Paradeep, will have two lanes and paved shoulders.

Both parts are planned for vehicles traveling up to 100 kilometres per hour.

The highway is also expected to help people and goods reach ports, railway facilities, an airport and other hubs more easily.
