Santacruz-Chembur Link Road opens, motorists save up to 35 minutes

In Mumbai, a big new road has just opened.

It is the last piece of a long road called the Santacruz-Chembur Link Road.

Now the road connects two of Mumbai's biggest highways, the Eastern Express Highway and the Western Express Highway.

The whole road is about 10 kilometres long and has no traffic lights or stop signals.

People driving on it can save up to 35 minutes on their journeys.

The new part also gives drivers a direct route between the Bandra Kurla Complex and the Western Express Highway.

It helps drivers skip busy, crowded spots like Vakola, Kalina and Kalanagar.

The road was built and opened by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority.

This means travelling from one side of Mumbai to the other is now much faster and smoother.
