Tirupati NIELIT permanent campus plans in limbo as Amaravati proposal emerges · thehansindia.com

NIELIT has a centre in Tirupati, but it does not yet have its own permanent campus there.

The centre currently works from Sri Venkateswara University.

A new report says the permanent campus might be built in Amaravati instead.

Tirupati MP Dr M Gurumoorthy questioned why the location might change.

He said students in Rayalaseema need more specialised education and technology institutions.

He also warned that putting many institutions in one region could increase regional differences.

The YSR Congress Party said it would oppose a decision that harms young people in the area.

Gurumoorthy plans to ask the Union and State governments for a clear explanation.
