No scope for corruption in smart ration card distribution: Jupally

In India, many families get food from the government using ration cards.

A ration card is like a special ID that lets families buy rice and other food at low prices.

For ten years, the government did not issue any new ration cards.

Now the government has made new smart ration cards that use technology, like a computer chip, to store information.

A minister named Jupally Krishna Rao helped launch these cards in a district called Mahabubnagar.

More than one crore families across the state have received the new smart cards.

The cards make it easy to add a new family member or change your name after marriage.

People can check their ration card details online from home.

The government can also see what supplies each shop receives and what is given to people.

The minister says this will stop cheating and make sure food reaches the right families.
