Odisha Signs Six MoUs to Advance Digital Agriculture
Odisha has signed six agreements to help farmers use better services and farming methods.
The Department of Posts will help farmers in remote villages complete important registrations.
These include Farmer IDs, CM KISAN registration and PM-KISAN verification.
ICRISAT will help improve seeds for pulses and oilseeds.
It will also support crops that can better handle changing weather.
The M S Swaminathan Research Foundation will run a three-year project for 3,000 farmers in Nayagada.
The project will combine nutritious crops, poultry, fish farming and community facilities.
The government says the success of these plans will depend on whether farmers’ incomes and livelihoods improve.
Odisha’s agriculture department signed six MoUs with the Department of Posts, ICRISAT and MSSRF.
The Department of Posts will help deliver digital agriculture services in rural and remote areas.
Postal workers will support Farmer Registry enrolment, Farmer ID generation, CM KISAN registration and PM-KISAN e-KYC.
ICRISAT will work on seed systems, pulses, oilseeds and climate-resilient crop varieties through four RKVY-DPR projects.
MSSRF will implement a three-year nutrition-focused farming project for 3,000 small and marginal farmers in Nayagada.
