Once a year, India celebrates Independence Day to remember when the country became free.

In 2026, India celebrated its 80th Independence Day.

In a state called Telangana, the state leader, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, joined the celebrations.

He went to a very old fort called Golconda Fort in the city of Hyderabad.

At the fort, he raised the Indian national flag high up a flagpole.

Right after that, police officers gave him a special salute called a guard of honour.

Many people came to watch the big and grand celebration.

For the very first time, everyone at the fort sang a famous patriotic song called 'Vande Mataram'.

This song is very special to India.
