Kurnool is building a large project to manage the city’s garbage.

The main project will cost Rs 330 crore.

A waste-to-energy plant will be built on 15 acres.

It is expected to process 200 metric tonnes of garbage every day.

Old waste at the Joharapuram dumping yard is being cleaned using bio-mining.

Another smaller plant costing Rs 8 crore will also be built.

Thirty electric autos have started collecting wet and dry garbage separately from homes.

Officials said 61 more electric autos will be introduced soon.
