Karimnagar Mayor Pledges Funds to Clear Dumping Yard
Karimnagar has a large amount of garbage at its dumping yard.
Mayor Kolagani Srinivas said the city would take steps to remove it.
The city plans to use Rs 17 crore from the Swachh Bharat Mission and ₹8 crore from the Karimnagar Smart City programme.
It also plans to buy machines and vehicles to improve cleaning work.
Residents had raised concerns about stray dogs and monkeys.
The mayor said stray dogs were being sterilised to control their numbers.
The Animal Birth Control centre may be expanded with more kennels and other facilities.
The municipal corporation also approved 180 items for city-related work.
Mayor Kolagani Srinivas said tenders would be invited to clear accumulated garbage at Karimnagar’s dumping yard.
The corporation plans to allocate Rs 17 crore under the Swachh Bharat Mission and ₹8 crore under the Karimnagar Smart City programme.
New sanitation equipment and vehicles, including JCBs, fogging machines, blade tractors and rickshaws, will be purchased.
The mayor said sterilisation of stray dogs was underway through an Animal Birth Control centre.
The municipal corporation unanimously approved 180 agenda items during its general body meeting.
