Modi Begins Two-Nation Visit to Strengthen Central Asia Ties
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan for four days.
He arrived in Tashkent on August 29 and was received by Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The two leaders will discuss ways to improve cooperation in trade, defence, energy, technology and education.
They will also compare India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 plan with Uzbekistan’s development strategy.
Modi will visit places connected with India’s history and cultural links with Uzbekistan.
He will meet scholars who study India and its culture.
After Uzbekistan, he will travel to Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan.
There, he will attend a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and meet regional leaders.
He will also attend the opening of the World Nomad Games, which celebrates Central Asian culture.
