PM-AJAY Releases Over Rs 1,730 Crore to States for Skilling
PM-AJAY is a government program that supports Scheduled Caste communities.
It combines three older government schemes.
From FY 2021-22 to FY 2025-26, more than Rs 1,730 crore was given directly to states.
This money helped more than 2.5 lakh individuals and groups receive skills and livelihood support.
The program also works to improve villages where many residents belong to Scheduled Castes.
It has covered 47,243 villages, and 18,093 of them were declared model villages by September 8, 2026.
The scheme also helps build and repair student hostels.
A new app and website are intended to make the program’s work faster and easier to monitor.
More than Rs 1,730 crore was released directly to states under PM-AJAY from FY 2021-22 to FY 2025-26.
The funding supported skilling and livelihood assistance for over 2.5 lakh individual and group beneficiaries.
The scheme’s Adarsh Gram component covered 47,243 villages and benefited more than 47.79 lakh citizens.
A total of 18,093 villages had been declared Adarsh Grams as of September 8, 2026.
The PM-AJAY mobile app and portal are shifting scheme processing to a real-time digital workflow.
