Jadavpur University has created a committee with 24 members.

The committee will decide how money from a central education scheme should be used.

The scheme is called PM-USHA.

Acting Registrar Debjit Dutta will lead the committee’s work as its convener.

Its plans will later be sent to the university’s Executive Council.

Earlier, the West Bengal government had not agreed to the scheme because it objected to the “PM” name.

The current state administration has agreed to the scheme.

The university also expects Rs 250 crore from the state for buildings, facilities and research.
