PwC India and PwC US want to create one large advisory business.

It would combine consulting teams from both organizations in India and the United States.

About 40,000 employees are expected to be part of the new platform.

The teams would help clients with planning, business changes, technology, engineering, and artificial intelligence.

They would also provide services that companies can use on an ongoing basis.

Some PwC India businesses, including auditing and tax, would not join the venture.

The deal still needs regulatory approval and other conditions to be met.

Until it closes, the two firms will continue working through their current structures.
