India’s economy grew by 7.8% during the first three months of its 2026–27 financial year.

Ambassador Vinay Kwatra said this keeps India the fastest-growing large economy.

He spoke about the growth at the Nasdaq stock exchange in New York.

Kwatra also said India wants closer economic ties with the United States.
