Police in Karur arrested three men from Odisha after a constable was allegedly attacked.
The incident happened during a night patrol near a TASMAC liquor shop in Thennilai.
The constable, named Ganesan, asked the men why they were drinking after the shop had closed.
Police said the men became angry and argued with him.
They allegedly attacked him and ran away.
Police said they also took his mobile phone, walkie-talkie and two-wheeler.
