Masked Youth Held During Alleged Attempted House Robbery in Ranipet
A farmer named Masilamani left his house to attend a wedding.
Later that night, neighbours heard noises from the house.
They called Masilamani and told him something might be wrong.
Masilamani asked his nephew Srinivasan to check the house.
Srinivasan found the door broken and a masked person inside.
He reportedly caught the person and discovered that he was Rajkumar, a youth from the same area.
Police arrived and took Rajkumar for questioning.
Masilamani said cash and gold jewellery were missing, and CCTV footage allegedly showed the man entering the house.
A masked youth was allegedly caught trying to break into a locked house in Kollaimaedu near Timiri.
The house belonged to 74-year-old farmer Masilamani, who was attending a wedding when the incident occurred.
Neighbours heard noises at about 10 p.m. and alerted Masilamani, who contacted his nephew Srinivasan.
Srinivasan reportedly found the masked man inside and identified him as local youth Rajkumar.
Masilamani complained that Rs 5 lakh and two sovereigns of gold jewellery were missing; police took Rajkumar into custody.
