Two Young Cousins Drown in Godavari at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
A little boy and his girl cousin were playing outside their home in a village.
They walked over to a big river without telling anyone in their family.
When nobody could find them for a long time, the family started searching.
They looked for about two hours but could not find the children.
Then some villagers saw the children floating in the river.
They quickly took the children to a hospital.
At the hospital, the doctors said the children had passed away.
The family was very sad because the boy was his parents' only son and the girl was her parents' only daughter.
That evening, the family held a ceremony to say goodbye to the children.
Everyone thinks the children may have gone near the water and accidentally fallen into the river.
Two cousins, Ayush Ravindra Misal (3) and Tanvi Avinash Misal (2.5), drowned in the Godavari River at Amelner Vasti near Kaigaon in Gangapur taluka on Sunday afternoon.
The children were playing in front of their house and walked toward the river bank without their family members' knowledge.
After the children went missing, family members searched for around two hours before villagers noticed both children floating in the river.
The children were rushed to Gangapur Sub-District Hospital, where medical officers declared them dead after examination.
The last rites were performed at Amelner Vasti in the evening; the Godavari's backwaters spread across around 1 km near the village along Gangapur-Old Lakhmapur Road.
