Two Cousins Drown in Rain-Swollen Drain in Sitapur
Two cousins were traveling to a field when they reached a drain filled with rainwater.
Surendra, who was 12, slipped while crossing it.
Kallu, who was 25, jumped in to try to save him.
The strong water current carried both cousins away.
Villagers and local divers searched for them.
They later recovered both bodies.

Police said Surendra slipped while crossing the drain around 4 pm.
Kallu reportedly jumped into the drain to rescue Surendra, but both were swept away.
Villagers and local divers recovered the cousins’ bodies.
Authorities announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each for the victims’ families.
