Indian missions in China hold Madhubani art workshops
People from India who live in China, along with Chinese friends of India, came together for art workshops.
They learned about a special kind of Indian folk art called Madhubani.
Madhubani paintings use bright colors, detailed patterns, and designs that come from the Mithila region of Bihar in India.
The Indian Embassy in Beijing hosted one workshop, and the Consulate of India in Shanghai hosted another.
Almost 200 people joined the workshop in Shanghai.
The leader of the Shanghai consulate, Pratik Mathur, said Madhubani holds a special place in India's history and culture.
The workshops were part of celebrations for India's 80th Independence Day anniversary.
Two students from Shanghai Jincai International School, Han and Liu, were also honored for their work.
They visited India recently on a student exchange program.
They are building a technology platform to teach people about traditional Indian art.
