BRICS Culture Meet 2026 in Bhopal Showcases Heritage, Traditional Cuisine
A group of countries called BRICS held a big culture meeting in Bhopal, a city in India.
The meeting lasted four days, and more than 100 guests from other countries came to join.
The guests talked about old traditions, museums, and creative jobs like art and music.
They also worked on a paper that the culture ministers of BRICS countries will sign.
The visitors were served tasty local food, like dal bafla and healthy millet dishes.
They visited special exhibits about old books, sea travel, and how different countries are connected.
In the evening, they went to a museum to see crafts and pottery made by local people.
They watched dancers, including Kathak performers, and a fashion show with traditional and tribal clothes.
On two more evenings, a free festival showed music and dances from many countries.
The meeting helps countries learn about each other's culture and become better friends.
The 4-day BRICS Culture Meet 2026 began in Bhopal on Wednesday with more than 100 foreign delegates; day two continued as the BRICS Cultural Summit 2026 on Thursday.
Discussions covered cultural heritage, museums, creative industries and the draft declaration of BRICS culture ministers under India's BRICS Chairship.
Three public exhibitions — Gyan Bharatam, Project Mausam and Project Greater India (called Project Brihattar Bharat in one report) — showcased India's manuscript heritage, maritime links and civilisational connections.
Delegates were served traditional Madhya Pradesh dishes including dal bafla, nimona, rikmach, guiya ki sabzi, Chambal ka thopa, chandiya, bada and kodo-kutki millet dishes, alongside Western and Oriental options.
A free two-day BRICS Cultural Festival at Ravindra Bhawan (August 6-7) features the Maru Rang Folk Dance Ensemble, the Mosaic instrumental collaboration and the closing production Amritasya Madhya Pradesh.
