Chandrababu Naidu Launches 'Netanna Sevalo' Scheme for Handloom Weavers

Andhra Pradesh has a leader called Mr. Naidu who helps people who weave cloth by hand on wooden looms.

On Friday, August 7, he started a new program called 'Netanna Sevalo,' which means 'In Service of Weavers.'

The program gives Rs 25,000 to each cloth-weaving family, and more than 71,000 families will receive this money.

This day is also India's special National Handloom Day, which celebrates handmade cloth.

Mr. Naidu said weaving is a proud part of Indian culture and asked everyone to protect it.

The government already gives free electricity to weaving families and pays pensions to older weavers.

It is also building a handloom park, a museum, and a big textile recycling factory.

Some reports say the program was an election promise, but another says it was not part of the pre-election promises.

The goal is to make sure the old craft of handloom weaving stays strong and that weaving families live better lives.
