Indian Railways Adds Ganapati Special Trains Across Konkan Route
Indian Railways is adding trains for people traveling during Ganapati Festival 2026.
These trains will run along the Konkan route between Goa, Mumbai and Maharashtra.
One service will connect Madgaon with Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.
Another smaller train will connect Chiplun and Panvel.
The trains will stop at several stations along the way.
The Madgaon–Mumbai train will have seats, sleeper coaches and air-conditioned coaches.
The Chiplun–Panvel train will be unreserved and will have eight coaches.
Passengers can book the main special train starting September 8, 2026.
Two Madgaon–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus special trains will operate on September 15, 16, 18 and 19, 2026.
The Madgaon–Mumbai service will include 19 coaches and halt at stations including Ratnagiri, Chiplun, Panvel and Thane.
An unreserved Chiplun–Panvel MEMU special will run from September 10 to 14 and September 18 to 27, 2026.
The MEMU service will have eight coaches and stop at stations including Khed, Mangaon, Roha and Pen.
Bookings for Train No. 01004 will open on September 8, 2026, through reservation systems, the internet and IRCTC.
