1.8 crore Maharashtra voters likely deleted from draft electoral roll
Maharashtra is a big state in India with millions of voters.
The government is checking its official list of voters.
This checking process is called the Special Intensive Revision.
They are finding names that should no longer be on the list.
Some people moved away, some people passed away, and some names were listed twice.
About 1.8 crore names may be removed from the first draft of the new list.
The first draft will be published on August 24.
Mumbai will see the most names removed, around 30 lakh.
