Over 18 lakh public grievances in 2025-26 against central govt depts: Jitendra Singh in Lok Sabha · theprint.in

In India, people who face a problem with a government service can send a complaint called a public grievance.

During 2025-26, people sent more than 18.33 lakh such complaints against central government departments.

The complaints are collected through a computer system called CPGRAMS.

Out of all the complaints received, more than 18.12 lakh were taken care of and closed.

The government has been working to make the complaint system easier to use.

People can now file complaints through a mobile app and at Common Service Centres.

The government reduced the time to solve a complaint from 30 days to 21 days.

A new AI-powered chatbot named 'Samadhan Didi' helps people register complaints by voice in many languages.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh shared these details with the Lok Sabha.
