India, Canada Advance Dialogue and Trade Agreement Negotiations
India and Canada held a meeting to improve cooperation between their governments.
The meeting took place in New Delhi.
Officials discussed trade, energy, education, security, science and technology, and other areas.
They said their relationship had been making progress since June 2025.
Both countries want to finish talks on a major economic partnership agreement before the end of the year.
They also want to increase trade between the two countries to CAD 70 billion by 2030.
The officials said their relationship is based on democracy, respect for national borders, and the rule of law.
They welcomed the stronger communication between their governments.
India and Canada held annual Foreign Office Consultations at Hyderabad House in New Delhi.
The delegations were led by Rudrendra Tandon and Arun Thangaraj.
Both sides welcomed progress in strengthening institutional engagement and government-to-government dialogue.
India and Canada reaffirmed their goal of concluding Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement negotiations before year-end.
