Lok Sabha Panel Flags Lack of Preparation for Language Rollout

India has a big plan for schools called the National Education Policy, or NEP 2020.

This plan says students should learn three languages in school.

Starting from Class 6, a third language is being introduced.

But a group of important people called a parliamentary committee found that schools were not ready for it.

There were not enough language teachers, not enough study books, and people were confused about which language students would learn.

Because of this, students, teachers, parents, and school leaders felt stressed.

The committee told the Ministry of Education about these problems in a report.

It also said the ministry has done many good things, like translating maths, science, and social studies books into 22 Indian languages.

The ministry also made fun learning kits called Jaadui Pitara and started a language exposure programme called Bhasha Sangam.

The committee wants the ministry to hurry up and get translated books and materials to every school.

It also wants more teachers to be hired so children can learn in their own language.
