Railway Chief Reviews Krishnapatnam Port Plans to Expand Freight
A senior railway official visited Krishnapatnam Port and nearby railway stations.
He checked how safely and efficiently goods are moved by train.
The port added equipment that lets two silos load cargo at the same time.
It also added another mechanised berth for very large ships.
The port now has six such berths.
Officials want to move 25 million tonnes of goods by rail this financial year.
Last year, the port moved 22.7 million tonnes by rail.
