Uttam Kumar Reddy: Telangana's fine rice distribution unparalleled in country

A leader in charge of food supplies in a state called Telangana told people that his state gives out a special kind of rice to more people than any other state in the country.

This rice is called fine-grain rice, and it reaches 3.42 crore people, which is a very large number.

The government spends Rs 14,800 crore to give out this rice.

The leader also said the number of ration cards, which families use to get food, went from 89 lakh to 2.80 crore.

He said this happened after the Congress government came into power.

He said the old government had not given ration cards to many families that deserved them.

He also said that farmers received Rs 90,000 crore for the rice they grew.

He spoke at an event in Sangareddy where new smart ration cards were handed out.

He criticised leaders of another party, called BRS, for spreading what he said was false information.
