Modi Urges SCO Dialogue Over Battlefield Solutions to Conflicts
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in Bishkek.
He said countries should solve disagreements by talking and using diplomacy instead of fighting.
He warned that a war in West Asia can affect energy supplies, ships, and the delivery of goods around the world.
He said countries in the Global South often suffer greatly from these problems.
Modi also said terrorism must be fought by stopping terrorist money, recruitment, radicalisation, and safe places for terrorists.
He said countries should not apply different rules when dealing with terrorism.
He supported better transport, trade, customs, and digital connections between SCO countries.
He said these connections must respect every country’s sovereignty and borders.
He also said SCO cooperation should create opportunities for people, young people, businesses, and farmers, while India continues helping Afghanistan.
