Modi Urges SCO to Turn Security Vision Into Concrete Outcomes
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, or SCO.
He said the group should focus on three things: security, connectivity and opportunity.
Security means countries working together against terrorism, drugs and organised crime.
Connectivity means making it easier to move goods, trade and share information.
Modi said these projects must respect every country’s sovereignty.
He said disagreements should be solved through dialogue and diplomacy instead of fighting.
He also linked peace in Afghanistan and West Asia with the safety of the wider region and global trade.
Modi wants SCO cooperation to help young people, businesses, farmers and ordinary citizens.
He also said countries should build stronger cultural, scientific and youth exchanges.
