Woman Dies as Heavy Rain Collapses Mayurbhanj Home Wall

A 50-year-old woman, Hemalata Mahant, died after a wall collapsed on her home in Mayurbhanj district.
Her husband was seriously injured and admitted to Rairangpur hospital.
The couple were sleeping inside their kutcha house in Chhanua village when the collapse occurred Monday night.
Police suspect continuous heavy rainfall over three to four days weakened and brought down the wall.
Bahalda recorded 273 mm of rainfall, the state’s highest total in the 24 hours ending Tuesday morning, according to the IMD.
