Maharashtra Fast-Tracks Cyclone Nisarg Rehabilitation In Raigad
Maharashtra To Fast-Track Cyclone Nisarg Rehabilitation In Raigad; Revised Disaster Rehabilitation Policy To Offer 500 Sq Ft Plots And Civic Amenities · freepressjournal.in

A big storm called Cyclone Nisarg badly hurt families living in Raigad, a district in Maharashtra, India.

Many people lost their homes and belongings.

The Maharashtra government now wants to help these families faster.

They plan to give each family a piece of land of their own that is at least 500 square feet big.

If a family had a bigger piece of land before, they may get a same-sized piece if one is available.

The government also wants to build roads, water supply, electricity, schools and hospitals for them.

A minister named Makarand Patil led a meeting about this plan.

Another minister, Bharatsheth Gogawale, strongly asked for the families to be helped soon.

The plan has to be approved by the state Cabinet before it can happen.
