Odisha Revises Rehabilitation Grant Rates for Project-Displaced Families
Odisha’s government has increased several payments for families affected by development projects.
These families may have to move because of industrial or mining projects.
The new payment rates will be used for two years, starting April 1, 2026.
Families rebuilding homes themselves can receive up to Rs 1,16,550.
Housing construction assistance will rise to Rs 3,49,650.
Some families can receive money instead of employment, based on their category.
Payments for agricultural land and monthly living support will also increase.
The government said relevant departments and officials have been informed about the changes.
Odisha revised rehabilitation grant rates under its 2006 Resettlement and Rehabilitation Policy.
The new rates will apply from April 1, 2026, through March 31, 2028.
Self-rehabilitation assistance rises to Rs 1,16,550, while housing assistance rises to Rs 3,49,650.
Employment-in-lieu assistance for industrial and mining displacement ranges from Rs 2,33,100 to Rs 11,65,500, depending on category.
Allowances for land, maintenance, temporary sheds and transportation have also been increased.
