Delhi Metro invites Rs 1,373 crore tender for Rithala-Kundli corridor
The Delhi Metro is building a new train line.
It will run from Rithala in Delhi to Kundli and Nathupur in the neighbouring state of Haryana.
The new line is about 26 and a half kilometres long.
It will have 21 train stations along the route.
The stations will be in areas like Rohini, Bawana and Narela.
This new line is part of the metro's Phase IV expansion plan.
The metro company, called DMRC, has asked builders to send bids for a big part of the construction work.
That part of the work will cost about 1,373 crore rupees.
The whole project is expected to cost about 6,230 crore rupees.
It will take about four years to finish, and it should help people travel without cars and buses, reducing traffic and pollution.
DMRC has invited a ₹1,373.36-crore civil works tender for a major section of the Rithala-Kundli corridor.
The 26.46-km Phase IV line will extend the Red Line towards Kundli and Nathupur with 21 stations.
The corridor passes through Rohini, Bawana and Narela, linking north-west Delhi with the NCR.
The overall project cost is estimated at around ₹6,230 crore, with completion planned in about four years.
The line will be another Delhi Metro link to Haryana, joining existing connections via Gurugram, Bahadurgarh and Ballabhgarh.
